When I meet people in public, I try to say hello or open a door, regardless of who they are. When I’m in my car I avoid competing for the last parking space, cutting people off in traffic, or tailgating so I’m paying my patience forward when we’re all busy. I also try to acknowledge people begging for money even though I have a general policy of not giving money to people begging. Most people are too busy to acknowledge those around us and this is my way of paying it forward.
